Masa kecil Ikuto :

Dumpty Key adalah milik ayah Ikuto, pas ayahnya kabur karena gak mau kerja untuk Easter, Dumpty Key dikasih ke papanya Tadase.
Papanya Tadase kasih ke Tadase, tapi Ikuto ambil supaya Tadase gak terlibat Easter, yang si Tadase salah artikan dengan mencuri...

Pas papa Ikuto kabur, mamanya menikah sama direkturnya Easter...

Sebelum mamanya menikah lagi,Ikuto sama Utau dititipkan di rumah Tadase, tapi mama Tadase iri sama mama Ikuto karena punya suami keren...
Jadi kalau ada masalah di rumah, Ikuto yang disalahkan...

Waktu papanya belum kabur, keluarga Ikuto dan keluarga Tadase sering ke taman ria, di mana Amu dan Ikuto 'kencan'...

OMG!

That’s all I can say about this chapter. It was made of so much win that made my head explode. I was practically bounching off the walls yesterday and developed a valley girl accent for a few hours.

It looks like the predictions of several people came true about what was going to happen in the next arc.

As you all know chapter 37 left off with Ikuto being confronted by Easter. The next part of the chapter focuses on a flashforward through all of Ikuto’s memories since then, that occured before the story started.



Tadase learns the truth that Ikuto didn’t really kill Betty, but merely said “Goodbye” to her.

I think it was good that Tadase saw Ikuto’s memories form his side. Understanding is the first step to making admends. I don’t think they’ll make up just like that. First of all, so much has happened between them since then with all the teasing on Ikuto’s part and all the name calling on Tadase’s part. Then there’s Amu, who they’re both in semi-rivelry for her affections. Not to mention that both these boys are incredablity stubborn. It will take a lot for the both of them to apolgize. But I think they will make up and become friends again in the end. Maybe not as close as they were back then, but still friends.



Amu seeing it was also good. Up to now she’s really had no idea what Ikuto went through. She had an inkling based on the stories Utau and Tadase told her, but it isn’t until now that she could understand all Ikuto suffered. Because she knows his hardships she’s now fully able to open her heart to him.



As Amu reflects on Ikuto and his past she reaches the end of the tunnel and sees a familar chara…..



…Who is Dia! She chara-naris into Amulet Dia.



Ikuto quickly gets over the shock of seeing Amulet Dia again and attacks Amu with the Death Sickle.

Amu counters with her new attack “Shooting Star Shower”

This scene was awesome. I can’t wait to see it animated. I think it might actually pwn the wonderful battle scenes from episode 42 and 43. I think most action scenes need to be in motion rather then just still on paper. (Actually there’s a lot of good action scenes between chapter 33 and chapter 38 with more to come in the next few chapters.)

OMFG!

Hug! The hug! Wow…Just wow.

(someone drew a fanart of Amulet Dia hugging Death Rebel in June last year. She deserves full points for guessing 100% right).

Anyways, in this moment I think we can truely prepare for an Amuto ending.

Think about: Ikuto has hugged Amu a bunch of times. Either to protect her like in chapter 10 or episode 51, or just to hug her like in chapter 28 and 30. Amu however has never willingly hugged Ikuto unless by accident like in chapter 3. She’s always avoid showing any form of phyical affection to him.

On a deeper level, Amu has never hugged anyone in the series. She offer Tadase and Rima her hands to stand up, and she gave helpful speeches of advice to everyone, but she’s never actually comforted anyone without long words before. It shows how much she cares about Ikuto, that she couldn’t find the words to express everything she wanted to say to him, so she could only really show her feelings through hugging him.

Also, it shows that she’s finally able to accept how much he means to her. Almost losing him truely made Amu apperiate what Ikuto is too her. Also seeing his past, made the caring side of Amu want to reach out to him, even more then how much she wanted to reach out to Tadase, Kairi, Rima or Utau.

Now a lot of people might say Ikuto being saved by being hugged by Amu is a cliche. Who cares? Really, someone reaching out to save him, literaly, especially someone who he cared about, was all that was needed to save Ikuto, especially since he’s someone who tries to resist control.



Ikuto and Amu chara-nari together with all Amu’s charas combining together. Amu’s chara-nari is Amulet Fortune and Ikuto’s is Seven Seas Treasure.

(I’m so glad he still has kitty ears. ^___^)

Okay, okay. I know a lot of people are complainting.

First of all about Ikuto being a pirate, remember at least he’s not a ninja or wearing a tux. Also it’s not out of the blue. Ikuto had Yoru because he always wanted freedom. Who are free? Pirates of course. Also Pirates are reckless memebers of soceity who played by their own rules, like Ikuto does. Lastly, the pirate chara-nari represents, Ikuto always looking for something to treasure and how he’s finally found it. In Amu.

Not Amulet Fortune, obivously represents the ability to make people’s dreams come true. Like Amu has. Also it’s a bride because many little girls dream about become a bride one day. Also it represents the ideal of true love and the idea of starting over new (which is why women in western countries wear white the colour of rebirth).

It could also be just because P-Pit wanted to draw Ikuto as a smexy pirate and Amu in a pretty dress. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, as Fraud would say.

It’s also cool that there’s such a thing as joint transformations. We knew there was joint attacks, but now joint transformations…wow. More proof that we’re going to get an Amuto ending.

This chapter was major awesome cakes with a side of winsause. I have a feeling that next chapter will be even better. Especially with a joint attack. We might finally see who Gozen is.
